Veteran frontman Goran Pandev fired Genoa to a surprising 2-1 victory over Napoli on Saturday night, to be named Serie A Player of the Week for Round 21.

There was an element of good fortune for Pandev’s first on 11 minutes, when a sloppy pass from the visitors gifted Milan Badelj the ball to slide in the 37-year-old, who hit a perfectly placed low drive home.
Just 10 minutes later the ex-Inter attacker stuck again, controlling a low ball and turning expertly 12 yards from goal and powering a shot past Partenopei goalkeeper David Ospina.
