Both Inter and Milan could look to take advantage of Barcelona’s fragile financial state by making a move for attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
Barcelona are in a desperate position in regard to their wage bill. Their efforts to resign Lionel Messi along with prior financial mismanagement means they are trying to cut the wage bill as much as they can.
This is why deals such as Junior Firpo to Leeds United have already occurred, as well as the club’s efforts to terminate the contracts of Samuel Umtiti and Miralem Pjanic.
Another player that could be loaned out to lighten the burden for at least one year is Coutinho, and according to Sport, both Inter and Milan have made their interest known to Barca. Premier League club Leicester City are also an interested party.
The Brazilian playmaker made 28 appearances for Inter before making the move to Liverpool, which is where he became one of the best players in the world. His €135 million move to Barcelona did not work out though, hence why he is now seen as expendable.
