Italy will face another tough test at Euro 2020 this Tuesday evening as they take on an ever-improving Spain side in the first of this summer’s two semi-finals at Wembley.
Having overcome Austria and Belgium in the knockout rounds so far - needing extra time to overcome Austria before stepping up to another level against Belgium. Spain, meanwhile, needed penalties to beat Switzerland and extra time to get past Croatia.
Here are five things that could decide Tuesday's semi-final.
Options from the bench
Mancini, in particular, has done well with the management of his squad so far this summer and only third choice goalkeeper Alex Meret is yet to play a single minute of football.
Both Matteo Pessina and Chiesa came off the bench to be Italy’s extra-time heroes in the 2-1 win over Austria in the Round of 16, and the Juventus forward then started against Belgium and will likely do so again on Tuesday. That’ll leave Domenico Berardi, Locatelli and even Andrea Belotti as likely go-to options if things aren’t quite going to plan, so Spain will have to concern themselves with a lot more than the XI who start.
