Reigning Serie A champions Inter have opened talks with Cagliari over the possible signing of Nahitan Nandez in a deal that would see three players go the opposite direction.

The 25-year-old midfielder is hot property after a couple of successful seasons on the island of Sardinia, and new Inter boss Simone Inzaghi is said to be the Uruguayan’s biggest fan.

Inzaghi is looking to cut out most of Nandez’ €36 million release clause by sending Radja Nainggolan back to Casteddu permanently, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Belgian had already agreed on get-out terms with I Nerazzurri, before Inzaghi came in and wanted to take a proper look at him.

In order to reduce the fee further, Inter are also offering midfielder Lucien Agoume as part of any potential deal, but the decision depends on who and what Cagliari see fit.

One possible solution is a loan with the option to buy, while another is to include installments in order for Inter to be able to afford their man.

Yet another name that’s being touted is that of Dalbert, with the 27-year-old central midfielder having accepted the idea of moving to Sardinia on loan in a deal that would be made permanent for €7 million at the end of the deal.
