Napoli are trying to complete a deal for Italy left-back Emerson Palmieri but I Partenopei are not willing to pay the €20 million that Chelsea want for the defender.

The 26-year-old has been with the Blues since January 2018 but the former Roma defender has been linked with a return to Serie A for some time and his contract expires in June 2022

According to Sky Sport Italia, Emerson is a player of interest to Napoli and new coach Luciano Spalletti would like him to join the Neapolitans but Chelsea are not moving away from their demands of €20m despite the Brazilian-born Italian having less than a year left on his contract.

The Blues left-back is representing Italy at Euro 2020 and he started in Gli Azzurri’s victory against Spain in the semi-finals.

Emerson is expected to start in the European Championship Final against England on Sunday after Leonardo Spinazzola suffered an Achilles Tendon injury in the 2-1 win against Belgium in the quarter-finals.
