Fiorentina are set to continue their summer spending by bringing in Real Madrid right-back, Alvaro Odriozola.

With the Serie A season underway, La Viola have already had an impressive few weeks by bringing in Nicolas Gonzalez, Matija Nastasic, and Lucas Torreira, but they aren’t done yet with president Rocco Commisso promising more

“We’ll get someone else,” Commisso said, “but the squad is already strong”.

The right-back position is the next place that Vincenzo Italiano is targeting for upgrades and the club have reached an agreement with Odriozola, according to La Nazione.

An eventual deal would see the player, who started just nine La Liga games last season, join on loan until the end of the season. All that remains to be seen is whether Carlo Ancelotti is willing to allow the player to leave, or if he’s a part of his plans.

Should the deal collapse then Commisso may be forced to splash out a permanent transfer fee for Lille’s Zeki Celik, although the French Ligue 1 outfit are holding out for €12 million, which is wayward of Fiorentina’s valuation.
