Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Juventus exit has provided another twist, with Manchester City no longer considering the Portuguese’s signing.
It had been expected that Cristiano Ronaldo would leave Juventus this week after telling coach Massimiliano Allegri that he no longer planned to play for the club, with a move to join Pep Guardiola at Man City looking the most likely resolution. Now, though, the Premier League champions have backed out of talks with the player and his agent, Jorge Mendes.
Sky Sports have reported that City ‘no longer have an interest’ in signing Cristiano Ronaldo, despite them being the player’s preferred choice for a move this summer.
Portuguese journalist Goncalo Lopes explained that City had agreed everything with Cristiano Ronaldo, only for Juventus’ demands to drive them away from talks.
Now, former club Manchester United appear to be the favourites to land the forward.
