Victor Osimhen’s appeal is set to find its verdict. Napoli are appealing against a two-match Serie A ban for the striker in hopes of having him available before the Juventus game.
The Nigerian was shown a straight red-card for pushing a Venezia player in the Partenopei’s opening game of the season.
The Napoli lawyers are making a case that Osimhen had no intention of hurting Daan Heymans who was annoyingly marking him.
They will be wishing for a reduced sentence to increase the chances of having Osimhen start against Juventus on Saturday.
According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, Napoli will be illustrating their case with a similar incident took place last season. Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal had fouled Lazio striker Ciro Immobile to which the latter reacted by what was close to a slap on the Chilean’s face. Immobile had then received a one-match suspension.
