Inter forward Joaquin Correa is fully aware of the importance of Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina meeting with AC Milan at the Stadio San Siro, despite the Serie A season still being in its early stages.
The Argentine has a good record against the Rossoneri from his time at Lazio, but knows that facing them as an Inter player presents a different challenge.
“We’re still at the beginning of the season, but you can definitely feel in the air that this is a special game,” Correa told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “It’s one of those that can change the course of a season.
“Our fans are asking us to make them happy, and we want to do it. We have to think about how important it is to get within four points of Milan, and everything can change with a win.
“Winning would send a message, it would mean that we’re still big players in the title race. Now, though, nothing definitive can be said. We have to stay close to the top of the table.”
