Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis insists that Partenopei captain Lorenzo Insigne‘s future is in his own hands, whether it lies at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona or elsewhere.

Insigne’s contract negotiations have dragged on with the Serie A side for a while now and many are suggesting that the Neapolitan’s time with his hometown club might be set to come to an end, with Inter one of the clubs touted as a possible next step.

“We’re calm,” De Laurentiis said about Insigne, speaking to Tuttonapoli. “We’re discussing things.

“I’ve never forced my hand in anything I’ve done, neither in film nor football.

“If Insigne wants to stay, we’ll welcome him with open arms. If he thinks his time here is over, then all right. He has to decide, and then we’ll accept his decision.
