With the first anniversary of Diego Maradona‘s death approaching at the end of November, the Argentine’s former club Napoli have paid tribute to their hero with a commemorative shirt.
The Partenopei will wear a limited-edition kit, which will be available in three different colours, in each of their three Serie A matches in November, starting with their Round 12 game against Hellas Verona at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

“One year on from the passing of the legend, Napoli will honour Diego Armando Maradona, an emblematic figure of his era and an undisputed worldwide footballing icon, by wearing a specially-designed shirt named Maradona Game,” read a press release issued by the club on Saturday.
“The shirt features an image of Maradona superimposed over a large fingerprint, representing the club’s desire to pass on the Argentine hero’s legacy to the younger generations of the city of Napoli.
“The limited-edition Maradona Game will be available in three different colours, a production run of 1926 per design, the number itself a tribute to the year the club was founded. These will be available for purchase on the Web Store SSC Napoli, the Amazon Brand Store, the OfficialStore SSCN as well as a number of other distributors.
“The version worn for the Napoli v Verona match will be available from November 7.
“A portion of the proceeds from sales will go to charities selected by the club.”
