Juventus are hoping to take advantage of Axel Witsel‘s expiring Borussia Dortmund contract by bringing the Belgian to Serie A in the January transfer market.
Witsel’s current contract with the Bundesliga side ends in the summer of 2022, and Dortmund might look to sell him in the winter to avoid losing him for free at the end of the season.
Sport Bild have reported that the player is open to the move himself, even mid-season, while Juventus’ need for a midfielder is no secret.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, though, say that any moves Juventus are to make in January depend on Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey. His salary in Turin is a problem for the Old Lady, and they need to find a way to move him on as soon as possible, whether it’s by finding a buyer or by reaching an agreement to terminate his contract.
The Bianconeri are also hoping to land Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic in the winter.
