Fiorentina are close to signing Brazilian striker Arthur Cabral from Basel to replace the outgoing Dusan Vlahovic.
The 23-year-old moved to Basel – originally on loan – in 2019 from Brazilian side Palmeiras and has been in tremendous goalscoring form ever since. Cabral has scored 46 times in 77 games for the Swiss Super League club, 14 of which have come in 18 games this season.
A transfer fee of €16 million, including bonuses, will be enough for La Viola to land their target, according La Nazione. Cabral will sign a contract until 2026.
The goal machine has been studied methodically by Fiorentina and is said to be seen as a great fit for the club. He will undergo a medical exam in the next few days in order to make him available for the next round of Serie A fixtures.
Cabral would therefore have time to integrate with coach Vincenzo Italiano and new teammates before a potential home debut against Lazio on February 5.
