Former Fiorentina and Roma striker, Roberto Pruzzo, reckons that Nicolo Zaniolo is set to be in a position of strength when the time comes to decide his future.
Pruzzo, who played for Roma for a decade between 1978-88, followed by a year with La Viola, seems to think that Zaniolo’s situation bears resemblance to that of Dusan Vlahovic after his big-money move to Juventus.
“Zaniolo has three key cards in his hands,” Pruzzo told Il Messaggero. Football is like this nowadays, I think the situation is similar to that of Vlahovic and Juventus.

“Now Zaniolo can decide to extend his contract with Roma, to accept an offer from another side or let his deal run down and then look for the best option when it has expired.
“When players have only two years remaining they should make a choice. In future, players with expiring contracts will know the rules and it’ll no longer be an exception”.
