Stefano Sensi says that survival is Sampdoria‘s equivalent of a Scudetto win following his recent move from Inter.
Sensi, 26, has joined the Blucerchiati on loan until June 2022 after struggling to find space in Inter’s midfield. The Italian international has managed only one Serie A start for the Nerazzurri, so has now turned his attention to helping Sampdoria stay up.
“Staying up would be like winning the Scudetto for us,” Sensi told Il Secolo XIX. “I never doubted the move, I’m here and I’m happy. Inter was like a home to me, but I’ve chosen a new goal for now.

“I’ve left my teammates, friends and a fantastic club but that doesn’t change by me moving here. I’ve played in many different roles and after speaking to [Marco] Giampaolo I understand that he wants to use me as an attacking midfielder.
“I’m willing to play anywhere, though. I will happily play in any of the positions that I’ve played in during my career. Whatever the coach [Giampaolo] decides, I’m ready and raring to go”.
As it stands, Sampdoria are in 16th place in Serie A and just three points ahead of Cagliari in 18th position. The Blucerchiati host Sassuolo on Sunday, with Sensi likely to make his debut from the off.
