Football is an extremely popular pastime in Italy, with the sport enjoyed by millions across the Mediterranean country.
Indeed, there have been a number of clubs from the region that have been successful across a variety of different tournaments, with the likes of Juventus, and both AC Milan and Inter having all been successful in Serie A and even in European competitions such as the UEFA Champions League.
Furthermore, the Azzurri has also been successful in the past as teams have managed to win the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championships, thus making their absence from this year’s edition of the World Cup all the more shocking, especially as current European Champions.
While Italians may have been left frustrated and upset that they will not be represented at the tournament in Qatar in the coming days and weeks, fans will be able to ease their pain by playing their favorite football video games. Indeed, given how popular the sport of football is in the country, many are playing football-themed games whenever they get a chance.
