Napoli are set to be preparing for life without influential defender Kim Min-jae, who looks set to finalise a deal with German giants, Bayern Munich. The South Korean international has been hugely impressive for Napoli, and certainly played his part in their title-winning league campaign in the 2022/23 season.

However, it appears as though his strong performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with Bayern Munich being set to land his signature ahead of the upcoming Bundesliga campaign, where they’ll be looking to win yet another league title this term. With Min-jae’s seemingly imminent departure, Napoli are likely to be in the market for a central defender, and they’ll be keen to find a replacement at the earliest of opportunities, as it’ll give them time for the new addition to settle into the first-team squad.

One player that Napoli have been rumoured to be interested in signing is Wolves defender Max Kilman, who has gone from strength to strength with the Premier League club since signing for them from Maidenhead Town. Kilman has established himself as a regular in the heart of the Wolves defence in recent years, and at the age of 26, he’s still got his best years ahead of him if his recent showings are anything to go by.

Wolves previously rejected a bid from Napoli for Kilman, but it has recently emerged that they’re open to moving the defender on before the summer transfer window reaches a conclusion. Therefore, we could be in for an interesting few months ahead, as Napoli look to pursue a deal to sign Kilman, who is certainly worth the punt, especially when Napoli are believed to not be far away from Wolves’ asking price for the 26-year-old.

He’s comfortable on the ball, and is dominant in the air, which makes him the ideal replacement for Min-jae, who displayed those exact qualities throughout the 2022/23 title-winning league campaign for Napoli.

It’s been revealed by mybettingsites.co.uk that Napoli are priced at 11/4 on Sky Bet to win the 2023/24 Serie A title, which could be a tempting bet for some punters. Below, you’ll find the odds for the rest of the title contenders next season in Serie A.

  • Inter Milan @ 5/2
  • Napoli @ 11/4
  • Juventus @ 4/1
  • AC Milan @ 5/1
  • Roma @ 10/1
  • Lazio @ 12/1
  • Atalanta @ 20/1

With Wolves being reportedly open to moving Kilman on for the right price this summer, then it should be a no-brainer for Napoli to step up their interest with a further bid for the Premier League defender, who has earned raving reviews for his impressive performances over the last couple of years in particular.
