Lazio is leading the Europa League group with a perfect record, securing 12 points after four matches. Their recent 2-1 victory over FC Porto was hard-fought, with the winning goal coming in stoppage time. This win places Lazio firmly at the top of the table, five points ahead of the play-off positions, putting them in a strong position to advance to the Round of 16.

This season, the Europa League, similar to the Champions League, has introduced a fresh format where each club faces eight unique opponents. The first eight teams will secure direct spots in the knockout stages, while those ranked ninth through 24th will advance to a play-off stage. Teams in the last 12 positions will be eliminated from the tournament. Lazio’s exceptional run so far leaves them as the sole team with an unbeaten record.

Lazio currently sits at 5/2 odds to win the Europa League though it is still quite early in the tournament. The tournament’s new format has made for some interesting new ways to bet on teams, with many bettors opting for accumulator bets. This has led to many players looking for any strategic help they can get. With the need for things like over under tips growing, luckily punters now have resources like sites that leverage technology to provide such help. With everything digitising more these days, even football tips for betting now have a modern twist as technologies like AI can now be used to analyse a massive amount of data to come up with reliable football betting tips.

For punters who have been trying modern betting methods in the Europa League, the games so far have led to plenty of great action to factor in. For example, Tottenham and Anderlecht had also won their first three games, but both stumbled in their latest matches. Tottenham suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to Galatasaray, underscoring their reputation as perennial underachievers

Anderlecht was held to a 1-1 draw by RFS in Riga, which allowed Lazio to take a clear lead at the top of the standings. Lazio’s strong position contrasts with the challenges faced by other teams in the league, especially some surprising names struggling in the standings. However, it also indicates that it’s not always going to be so easy to hold their top spot.

On the other hand, Roma, Lazio’s Serie A rival, is struggling in the Europa League and currently sits in 20th place—a stark change from two years ago when they were finalists under Jose Mourinho. They have managed only one win, against Dynamo Kyiv, but have been otherwise disappointing. In their latest game, Roma drew 1-1 against Union Saint-Gilloise in Brussels.

Alongside Roma, other high-profile clubs like Real Sociedad, Nice, PAOK, and Dynamo Kyiv find themselves in danger of early elimination from the Europa League. These teams need strong performances in the remaining games to avoid missing out on advancing.

With four matches left, teams are at a critical juncture in the tournament. Lazio is in an excellent position to maintain their lead, while Roma and other struggling teams need to improve quickly to stay in contention. The current standings hint at a thrilling second half of the group stage, with several clubs fighting for a spot in the next round.
