Juventus lifted the Viareggio Cup the third time in four years after beating Roma 2-1 thanks to goals from Beltrane and Padovan.

The Bianconeri raced into an early lead going two goals up within 20 minutes.

Marco Baroni’s men made much the better start and their aggressive approach paid dividends.

Spinazzola advanced with the ball and played a delightful pass to Beltrame who finished from close range, then Padovan made it two on 23 minutes.

Roma looked to be dead an buried with Juve in the ascendancy, but following the half-time break the Giallorossi came out with renewed vigour and grit.

It was then in the 58th minute that Piscitella gave them a way back into the match, when his curling right footed shot found the back of the net.

De Rossi’s men went all out for the equaliser but is was not to come. Piscitella, Viviani and Tallo all went close but in the end Juventus held on for victory and their eighth triumph at the tournament, equaling AC Milan and Fiorentina’s record.
