Premier League new boys Watford are currently working on a deal to bring Atalanta right back Davide Zappacosta to England.

The Atalanta player who is primarily a right back but can play in a variety of positions including further up the pitch, has previously attracted interest from the likes of Fiorentina and Juventus.

However, according to reports from Sportitalia, Watford are currently leading the chase for the former Avellino player.

Watford have close ties to Serie A, as they are currently owned by Gino Pozzo who also owns Udinese. Watford have already looked to plunder Serie A for talent this summer with a deal for Diego Perotti close.

Zappacosta made 29 appearances for Atalanta last season and is well capped for Italy at U21 level with 17 caps since his debut in 2013.
