Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi has reiterated his intentions to stay with the club ahead of the new season.

The 21-year-old forward’s future at the Neroverdi looked increasingly uncertain despite having only just been bought outright by the club, with the Italy Under-21 international choosing to remain with Sassuolo over a move to champions Juventus.

“I’m glad I stayed, it will be another year of growth for me,” Berardi told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m glad to be part of this group, I grew up here and with these teammates. I hope to repeat the good that I did last year.

“I will adapt to the choices of the coach, it does not change anything for me to play as right midfielder or as a playmaker. I want to do well and hopefully repeat the call of Conte next season.”

Berardi has scored 31 goals during 61 league appearances for Sassuolo since making his first team debut in August 2012.
