Midfielder will return to Sunderland after Bologna loan spell ends

Emanuele Giaccherini - SunderlandBologna midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini will be heading back to his parent club Sunderland after his current loan spell ends, his agent has confirmed.

Giaccherini joined the Rossoblu in the summer on a season-long loan deal, and has featured six times for I Veltri this season, recently helping his side to two consecutive wins against Atalanta and Hellas Verona.

“Giaccherini is happy in Bologna but in June he will be going back to Sunderland,” said Furio Valcareggi to Radio Nettuno. 

He has another year of his contract left with the Black Cats, and after that we will see what happens.

“At this moment in time there are no agreements with any other clubs. Either way, it is still too early to talk about transfer rumours.”

The former Juventus player has recently been called up to the Italian national team by coach Antonio Conte.
