simeoneFormer Inter forward Ronaldo believes that current Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone will return to the Biscione sooner rather than later.

Simeone, who spent two years at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as a player, having joined from the Rojiblancos in 1997, before moving on to join Lazio in ’97.

“I think it is only a matter of time before Simeone returns to coach Inter,” the legendary Brazilian said to Mediaset Premium.

Continuing to discuss his former club’s fortunes, Ronaldo expressed his continued fondness for the Nerazzurri, as well as commenting on their failed attempts for the Scudetto this season.

“I still feel great affection for the club and I wish I was able to help out,” he added. “Their focus for next season must be on a better continuity of results.

“Some of the results in January and February were crazy. To challenge for the title you need to be careful for the whole season.”
