With Manchester City seemingly halting their efforts to sign him, bitter rivals Manchester United will submit an offer for Leonardo Bonucci.

The Juventus defender had caught the attention of the Citizens earlier this summer, but nothing has happened since they launched a second bid for him and thus United boss Jose Mourinho has seen a window of opportunity to sign the Italian international.

According to the Daily Mirror, United have offered the reigning Serie A champions €60 million for Bonucci, after their attempts to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid failed.

City haven’t completely ruled out a move for Bonucci yet, however it is more likely that he will play for the red side of Manchester if a transfer was finalised.

The former Inter man moved to Turin in 2010, and has won five Scudetti, two Coppa Italias, three Supercoppa Italianas and finished second in the Champions League with the Bianconeri.
