It’s been a great start to life in Serie A for Lazio striker Miroslav Klose. His goal last weekend against Fiorentina was his fifth in seven matches, a very impressive record.

Coach Edy Reja praised the German forward and underlined his importance to the team.

“He is extraordinary and very important for us,” he said to Lazio Style Radio. “If he continues like this it would be great.

“He lives a correct life, he doesn’t have strange things on his mind. He’s a true athlete. Also, he has incredible power: when he starts running you can’t stop him. We are lucky that he came to Lazio.”

On his call up to the German national team, which has already qualified for Euro 2012, the coach said: “He told me should play only the first match, and perhaps only part of it.”

On the team’s inconsistent start to the season, Reja said: “We are a somewhat ‘heavy’ team and it can happen to have a rough start. But now we are doing better and I’m sure you’ll see us at our best from now on.”

Klose never receives enough praise in my opinion. He isn’t flashy he doesn’t move like other strikers are expected to in today’s game, he just scores goals.

Indeed, he is a great asset to Lazio and an excellent goalscorer. Capocannoniere?
