Maicon: I Left Inter To Win Trophies

Douglas Maicon has been none too complimentary towards his former club after conducting his first interview as a Manchester City player.

The Brazilian defender stated that his main reasons for leaving the Nerrazzuri were motivated by contesting for major honours.

He said today: “I left Inter because I was still hungry and I came to Manchester City to keep winning trophies and playing in the Champions League as well as the chance to play again under Roberto Mancini.”

The full-back does however have fond memories of his six years with the Beneamata.

“I felt it was just time for me to move on and I am happy that I won a lot with Inter but now I will not look back on that and my future is with City.”
