Genoa drew 2-2 with Siena at the Luigi Ferraris on Saturday afternoon in Serie A.

Goals from Marco Borriello and Bosko Jankovic were just enough to keep the Gialloblu out of the relegation zone after two goals either side of half-time from Innocent Emeghara and Alessandro Rosina had given Siena a surprising the lead.

Genoa made a quick start to the match and took the lead in the sixth minute after Borriello’s low driven free kick was deflected by the wall past keeper Gianluca Pegolo.

With the home side unable to make their possession count Siena made the most of a late spell of pressure to equalise when Sebastien Frey failed to deal with Emeghara’s strike just before half-time.

Begininig the second half as they ended the first the vistors were quickly infront through a well placed Rosina penalty, conceded after clumsy challenge by Genoa’s Cesare Bovo on Emeghara.

The early set back galvanised the home players, as they took back control of the game, Borriello in particular having a number of chances to equalise, with a point blank header bringing an excellent low stop from Pegolo.

However, it was left to Jankovic to convert the equaliser from close range 20 minutes from time and maintain the one point gap between the sides.
