Devis Mangia - Italy U21Italy Under-21 coach Devis Mangia has heaped praise on his side for beating the Netherlands yesterday and reaching the Euro Under-21 final.

Fabio Borini’s solitary goal was enough for the Azzurrini to triumph in yesterday’s semi-final and set-up a final against current holders Spain.

“It was a great Italy, because we suffered against a more experienced side, but we never gave up,” Mangia told Rai Sport.

“In the second half we were better set out on the field and much more balanced. Everyone did brilliantly, running hard and the defence played a fantastic game.”

The Azzurrini were heavily reliant on their defensive abilities against the Netherlands, but when questioned about this Mangia said he “couldn’t care less.”

The Under-21 coach admits that Spain will be the toughest test yet, but that the opposition will play no part in his tactics.

“Spain are stronger than any other team, but we will play our game against them.”

Spain beat Norway 3-0 earlier yesterday to reach Tuesday’s Euro Under-21 final in Jerusalem.
