Marin Skrtel’s could be about to swap Liverpool for Napoli after the defender’s agent admitted there has been contact with the Serie A side.
With Rafael Benitez, the man who brought him to Anfield in 2008, now confirmed as Napoli coach, Skrtel may decide to join his old boss in Naples.
Tuttomercatoweb contacted the defender’s agent who claimed Skrtel is still firmly focused on next season with Liverpool but conceded that, “At the moment, there are a lot of rumours… but we have had contact from Napoli.”
Benitez, who always held Skrtel in high regard, once said of him: “He is aggressive, quick, is good in the air and I think he’s a good player for the future and also the present. He is very competitive, but for me is mentality is very good.”
