The 22 year old striker spent two years in Italy playing for Roma and AC Milan, though recently stated it was a poor decision to play in Serie A.
“I have not spoken with either [Barcelona director of football Andoni] Zubizarreta nor with Tito [Vilanova, Barcelona coach] and with them there was no problem,” Bojan told Cadena COPE’s Partido de las 12.
“I am proud of what I have achieved in my career, I am 22 years old and I still have plenty of time to improve.
“Italy was a positive experience, although the football is very different and adapting wasn’t easy, but Ajax is a club that has always attracted me and I can identify with the mentality and football philosophy.
“Messi? I believe that his presence held me back a lot. When you have the world’s best player in the team, you have to adapt to play in another position.
Bojan scored ten goals in his two years in Serie A with the Giallorossi and the Diavolo.
