Massimo Moratti - InterInter boss Massimo Moratti has confirmed next week that he will meet with Erick Thohir over the proposed club for the sale of the club but insists a deal is a long way off.

The Indonesian business man is set to touchdown in Italy to over the next few days to snap up 40 per cent of the club shares for a reported €150 million.

“You seem to all assume it’s done with Thohir and take the successful conclusion for granted,” Moratti told Sky Sport Italia.

“As a good fan I too believe it can happen, but very little of what I read in the papers is true. I think there will be more meetings over the next week, but we are still a long way off completing the deal.”

When asked if Thohir’s investment would ensure players like Samir Handanovic and Fredy Guarin are off the market, Moratti insisted, “transfer strategy has nothing to do with all of this.”

The Nerazzurri have been pushing for Cagliari star Radja Nainggolan, but they face very strong competition from Roma for the Belgian international who will come with a hefty price-tag of €15m

“I don’t know if Inter are in front for Nainggolan. For the moment we are watching and waiting, so there is no battle with Roma.”
