Chivu-Inter-v-TorinoSampdoria are reportedly after Inter left back Alvaro Pereira and centre back Christian Chivu.

Twenty seven year old Pereira signed for the Nerazzurri last summer for a reported €10 million from Porto but has failed to cement his place in the starting line up.

According to Portugal based lusitano A Bola, il Doria are hopeful of acquiring the Uruguayan for a bargain price.

Meanwhile, FcInterNews.it reports that Chivu, who has refused to terminate his contract with Inter, might be interested in joining the Blucerchiati to guarantee first team action.

  1. Francesco Flachi says:

The Pereira signing would be tremendous. If they signed Chivu, I suspect a back four (if Rossi were to use four) would be: Pereira- Gastaldello, Chivu, DeSilvestri. On paper that would be the best back four for Samp in ages.

Chivu, however, could very well be facing a rapid decline. Plus, the two young Polish defenders Samp just acquired, plus Ragini who will be returning, will need playing time.

Conclusion: Sign Pereira, if you can get a good deal, let Chivu be someone else’s problem, and platoon Ragini and the Pole until one of them distinguishes themselves. Use the other Pole to spell DeSilvestri and Pereira.

Spend the Chivu money on Gabbiadini, and another striker. Gabbiadini alone still leaves Samp with poor depth at striker.

Also need a mid or two that compliments Krsticic and Obiang.

But so far so good Garroni. Keep improving the squad.

Agree with Flachi on all points. Chivu is not to my liking though.

Assuming we sign those defenders Palombo will be back in midfield next year with Obiang.

Creativity is still sometihing we are worryingly lacking. Attacking creative midfielders must be a #1 priority.
