AC Milan are the closest of several teams interested in the 23-year-old French defender Mamadou Sakho, according to reports.
After the Ligue 1 side acquired Marquinhos from Roma the writing has been on the wall for the defender who looks to be on the way out with Liverpool, AC Milan and Arsenal all reportedly interested in agreeing a deal.
However, L’Equipe report that AC Milan are the closest to the defender, and will launch a bid for Sakho should they qualify for the Champions League group stage on Tuesday.
The Rossoneri face PSV in a preliminary round match and a victory in that game means that Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani will look to acquire a player.
PSG have set a €10 million price tag for Sakho, and Milan want to sign the player on loan with an option to buy for an agreed price.
