Reports emerging from Italy suggest that Alberto Gilardino and Fabio Quagliarella may pack their bags for the MLS following the end of the current Serie A campaign.

Gianluca Di Marzio, a respected journalist, has claimed on his personal website that Beppe Bozzo, the agent of both players, has made a trip to the United States to discuss potential moves for his clients as various stateside clubs seem interested in acquiring the duo’s services.

The players’ representative is presently in New York. However, he is expected to travel to Toronto during the weekend to catch a game between Toronto FC and Alessandro Nesta’s Montreal Impact.

Both ‘Gila’ and ‘Quag’ had been rumoured to leave their respective clubs, Genoa and Juventus respectively, during the summer transfer window; and a move across the Atlantic Ocean seems to be a fitting solution as they appear to inch ever closer to the end of their topsy-turvy careers.

Need to question the validity of this rumor. Travel to Toronto to catch a game between NY and Montreal? Huh?
