Wenger - ArsenalArsenal manager Arsene Wenger said that Napoli made it very difficult for his team and also complemented the Azzurri on their performance.

The Partenopei beat the Gunners 2-0 but it wasn’t enough to see them through to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

“We are happy to be through because it was very difficult, we took it very seriously but in the second half we dropped a lot physically, we had a game on Sunday,” he told the press.

“Napoli played very well tonight but we were a little bit on edge for some minutes, it was nervous in the end, but we got through.

“The most difficult is when you are in between, do we attack or defend? As long as we didn’t score, they had hope.”

Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund will go into the draw for the knockout stage and Napoli will drop into the Europa League.

It has been a terrific Champions League thus far. Arsenal had Napoli bottled up the first half. If the Azzurri had managed a goal in the first half things would’ve been very different. Oh well. Actually hope Arsenal advance as they’re one of the few English teams I can stomach and I really respect Wenger.
