Tim Krul NewcastleNapoli are reportedly eyeing Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul as a possible replacement for Pepe Reina at the end of the season.

Reina, who’s on a season-long loan from Liverpool until the end of the current campaign, is expected to join La Liga side Barcelona once June comes around and the Serie A team are yet to find his successor, though they now seem to be focusing in on the 25-year-old Magpies keeper.

According to the Daily Mirror, Napoli could be preparing a considerable offer for the Netherlands international at the end of the season, which some sources believe the player may accept despite the fact that he’s previously admitted his wishes to stay with the Premier League club.

The Azzurri may also be facing another obstacle in their attempts to sign the goalkeeper as AC Milan have apparently begun following his performances as well in recent weeks.

Krul started his professional career at Newcastle in 2006 and has left twice on loan since then, to Falkirk during the 2007-08 season and Carlisle United during the 2008-09 season.
