Immediately after Livorno’s 3-0 home defeat to Parma, coach Davide Nicola came face to face with a group of disgruntled Amaranto supporters who asked him why the team is going through such a baron spell.

Reports are claiming the Italian technician’s days could be numbered after a string of bad results has seen the Labronici go eight Serie A games without a win.

Saturday’s result is expected to spell an end to Nicola’s tenure at Livorno and, according to Sky Sport Italia, the club has already contacted a number of possible replacements including Domenico Di Carlo, Serse Cosmi and even Giovanni Trapattoni, with Di Carlo being deemed the favourite.

Meanwhile after the game, Nicola lamented Livorno’s lack of cutting edge.

“The early goal forced us to change our approach, we pegged Parma back into their own half for 25 minutes after the restart, but couldn’t find the goal,” he told the press.
