Hernanes - LazioAs Manchester United continue to struggle this season following the departure of long-serving boss Sir Alex Ferguson, new incumbent David Moyes has reportedly targeted Lazio’s Brazilian playmaker Hernanes to help the Red Devils rise up the Premier League standings.

Although the English champions finished top of Group A in the Champions League, they have not performed well domestically, currently lying in seventh place, 14 points behind leaders Arsenal, and were recently eliminated from the FA Cup by Swansea City.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Moyes will move for €20 million-rated playmaker Hernanes in January, but the Scotsman will have to compete with AC Milan and Inter for the Brazilian international’s services.

The former Sao Paolo midfielder is being strongly linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico as his contract is set to expire in 2015, and despite United’s apparent willingness to part with around €17m to get their man, the Biancocelesti are unlikely to accept any offers below their asking price.
