Mazzarri: Inter failed to convert chances

Inter coach Walter Mazzarri believes the Nerazzurri’s inability to put away their chances prevented them from taking home all three points from their match against Cagliari on Sunday.

The Benemata were only able to muster a 1-1 draw against the Isolani, though the Nerazzurri had reason to recriminate when they weren’t given what looked to be a penalty in the dying stages of the match.

“I don’t speak about the referees, I really don’t want to talk about them,” he told Rai Sport after the match.

“In the second half we played well. Our mistake was that we didn’t make the most of our chances.

“In the first half Cagliari played better even if they weren’t particularly dangerous, aside from the penalty we conceded. Unfortunately today we gave away two points.

“The formation? It depends on the players I have available to me. Even today I changed to a four man defence.

“[Ricardo] Alvarez? He played a great match. Hernanes? He is an experienced player that is used to certain pressures. In this regard we missed him a lot.”

Mazzarri sureprized me yesterday a greet team I saw last night specially when Guarin + Kovacis + Botta were togather at the beginning I thought we gonna win but then the weakness point became more clear Jonathon can’t offer the needed preformace he always escapes confrontation and missposition for Kova passess untill the Kova decided to work with Yuto instead that until defence line lost control and started to cross unorganized balls we even saw the Capitano Samuel screaming madly on Jonathon for being late on all balls he passed to him
