Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has denied club captain Luisao will be joining Juventus during the current transfer window.

The 33-year-old, who has played with the Portuguese club since 2003, has been recently linked with the Bianconeri with a deal thought to be in place between player and club.

However, in an interview with Benfica TV, the club president was adamant about the centre back remaining in Portugal.

“Luisao to Juventus? It is not true,” Vieira announced. “If they want to discuss it with us, they will.

“Luisao has already said he wants to end his career with us.”

The Brazilian defender has made over 250 appearances for Benfica and won the most recent Primeira Liga title with the club.
