Napoli are set to complete a move for Croatian international Ivan Strinic.

With only minor details to be solved over the transfer of Manolo Gabbiadini to the San Paolo, Napoli are looking to continue their spending spree by adding the 27-year-old Strinic to the ranks.

The left back is currently plying his trade in Ukraine at Dnipro and according to Sportmediaset, a move to the Italian clubs is close to completion.

Strinic is currently under contract to the Ukranian side until 2018 but a move to the Serie A would see him net a contract worth €1.6 million a season.

Strinic had to pull out of last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil due to a hamstring injury and could be a replacement for Faouzi Ghoulam, who is expected to be away with Algeria at January’s African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

One response to “Napoli set to land Dnipro fullback”

  1. Yet another foreign player at Napoli! Perhaps they should swap names with Inter as the northern club appear to be heading in the opposite direction.

With the new rules regarding the quota of Italian players coming into effect next season, I was hoping that Napoli would be more pro-active in signing Italian players. Gabbiadini isn’t enough!

Also, when you consider that Napoli is virtually a one club city, you’d think that they would prioritize their youth academy in order to take advantage of the huge catchment area. It’s a disgrace to think that only Insigne has come through in recent years. There must be so many talented kids in that region!
