Roma captain Francesco Totti could not hide his delight after the Giallorossi’s win over Genoa moved the club within one point of current league leaders Juventus.
While Roma were able to grind out a win against Genoa, current league leaders Juventus were forced into a draw with Sampdoria leaving an opening for the Giallorossi to make the race for this year’s Scudetto even tighter.
“A hard victory, one that was earned against Genoa,” he told fans of the club through Roma’s website.
“Perhaps it could have been even larger in terms of goals, we really created many opportunities, but ultimately that’s okay.
“The determining factor was that we recovered points compared to Juventus on a day that saw us play on a difficult pitch like that of the Marassi.”
