AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien is open to making a move to Major League Soccer, should an opportunity present itself.

The former Chelsea midfielder has failed to become anything more than a fringe player during his time in Italy and his time at the San Siro club looks to be limited as he prepares to leave the Rossoneri.

According to the player’s agent, Fabrizio Ferrari, a move to MLS is on the cards for his client.

“The are several possibilities, and there has been serious negotiation,” said Ferrari.

“A move to the USA is a real possibility and a move there would be more than welcomed.”

Essien has featured just 10 times in Serie A for Filippo Inzaghi’s side this season, with the majority of those appearances coming as a substitute.

Let me guess: But only if it’s New York or Los Angeles.
