Juventus and Italy legend Alessandro Del Piero has admitted that he was to play for Torino as a youth player and reflected on his career path.
The 40-year-old veteran, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation, has been a free agent since the end of the Indian Super League season with Delhi Dynamos.
“When I was little, I was supposed to have played for Torino, but my mother was against this,” Del Piero told the press at the University event in Milan.
“A year later I ended up at Padova, and this is the beginning of the story.
“After Italy I spent two fantastic years in Australia, then India and the United States, but in fact I traveled much more and met and learned a lot about many extraordinary people around the world.”
