Juventus have retaliated against a late offer from Inter to sign Paulo Dybala by making an approach for fellow Argentine Mauro Icardi.

Icardi has been in the media recently after refusing to sign a new contract with Inter as the club have not met his €4 million salary demands.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus offered the player up to €5m in order to tempt him away from the Milanese side.

The Old Lady had long been the favourites to sign Palermo’s Dybala and were reportedly upset at Inter’s rumoured last minute €34m bid to Palermo for the player.

The Bianconeri approached Icardi in retaliation following this news, despite Inter labelling the player unsellable due to his impressive form this season.

Should they join Juventus, both Dybala and Icardi would join fellow countryman Carlos Tevez, who is this season’s current top scorer.

All three players are currently inside the league’s top four scorers with fellow Argentine Gonzalo Higuain in third spot.
