Turkish side Antalyaspor are on the verge of signing Samuel Eto’o on a free transfer from Sampdoria.
The club’s president Gultekin Gencer has spoken of his ambition for the newly-promoted club and it seems the 34-year-old is set to become the club’s first big-name capture.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gencer met with the player’s representatives at a Milan hotel to reach an agreement and the deal is reportedly all but official.
Eto’o is expected to join Antalyaspor on a three year deal after terminating his contract with the Blucerchiati and he could fly to the city of Antalya as early as June 24 for his official unveiling.
Eto’o made 18 appearances and scored two goals for Samp during the second half of the 2014-15 Serie A season.
