Samuel Eto’o and Sampdoria have put an end to their relationship after just sixth months, with both parties terminating the Cameroonian’s contract.
The 34-year-old striker joined Samp during last season’s winter transfer window, penning a two-and-a-half year contract. However with a move to Antalyaspor on the verge, Eto’o has already left the Genoa-based club.
Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero already bid his farewell and thanked Eto’o via the club’s official website, confirming that the striker’s contract with the club has been canceled in order to allow him to complete his move to Turkey.
Only the official word from Antalyaspor is missing now, to make Eto’o’s Turkey switch official. Eto’o made 18 Serie A appearances for Sampdoria, scoring two goals and making three assists.
