Stephan El Shaarawy expressed some bitterness at his departure from AC Milan, with a move to Monaco nearing completion.

Monaco quickly moved for the AC Milan forward, with El Shaarawy already agreeing terms with the Ligue 1 club on Saturday.

The 22-year-old was also excused from the Rossoneri’s weekend training session, with only his Monaco medical left to make the transfer official.

With his transfer now imminent, the young Italian would have taken a parting swipe at the Rossoneri, just before leaving his teammates and staff, according to Corriere della Sera.

“I go where I am wanted,” El Shaarawy said.

El Shaarawy enjoyed a difficult and injury-plagued last couple of seasons, since his breakout 2012-13 season. Since then, the Italian international has only managed 28 appearances in all competitions for AC Milan.

I bet he will grow and prosper in Monaco. Milan medical / training staff just can’t keep our players injury free. Pato, SES are just examples. The players are overwhelmed by excessive training and always rushed back from injury.
