The agent of AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy quickly moved to quash any controversy regarding the Italian’s perceived swipe at the club.

El Shaarawy looks set to complete his transfer to Monaco, with the reports that the 22-year-old would have taken a parting swipe at the club’s hierarchy before leaving en route to his scheduled medical.

The player’s agent swiftly denied media reports of the incident however, assuring that the Italian will only speak after the official completion of his transfer.

“El Shaarawy, yesterday or in the last hours, did not issue any sort of statement about his likely move to Monaco,” the player’s agent said on CalcioMercato.com.

“El Shaarawy will speak of course, but only after the medical and the signing of his contract.

“The words attributed this morning [Sunday] to El Shaarawy by Corriere della Sera are absolutely false and fabricated.”

After agreeing personal terms and having been excused from the Rossoneri’s training session, El Shaarawy edges ever closer to a Monaco switch, pending his medical scheduled for as early as Monday.
