Fiorentina fans expressed their displeasure at being linked with Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, placing a banner in front of the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina have been linked with a swap deal that would see Mario Gomez leave to Liverpool, and Balotelli arrive in his place. However, even as the German striker now looks set to move to Besiktas, Fiorentina fans have preempted the club to make their feelings known.
The anti-Balotelli banner was reportedly put up in the night, and taken down from the front of the Artemio Franchi on Tuesday morning.
“You are a man without honor, Florence doesn’t want you,” read the banner from the Fiorentina fans.
The banner was signed “G.F. 93”, which refers to the Group Firenza section of the Viola fans.
